Is Hinduism related to Judaism?

All the world’s religions - Hinduism, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam - are related to the original Vedic religion - Sanatana-dharma - the eternal religion. Sanatana-dharma is the Vaishnava religion, the basis of which is the Vedic literature.

The essence of all Vedic philosophy and religion is ensconed in Bhagavad Gita - the song of God. Bhagavad Gita forms one chapter of the Mahabharata, the longest piece of literature known to man. The Mahabharata is longer than the Illiad, the Odysse, and the Bible taken together.

The world’s religions are related in the sense that they all tell the same story, but from different cultural angles. They are all later derivations from the Sanatana-dharma of the Vedic tradition. People in the Vedic tradition, were worshiping the one God - Vishnu or Krishna - already thousands of years before the world saw Judaism or any of the other Abrahamic religions.

The Biblical story of the flood, and Noah’s ark, is obviously inspired by the story of Matsya avatar, documented in the Puranas. King Herod’s persecution of baby Jesus is clearly derived from Krishna’s child-hood partimes of being persecuted by King Kamsa. These are just a few of the many paralles between the Vedas and the Bible.

Krishna says:

I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts. (Bg 10.8)

The thoughts of My pure devotees dwell in Me, their lives are fully devoted to My service, and they derive great satisfaction and bliss from always enlightening one another and conversing about Me. (Bg 10.9)

To those who are constantly devoted to serving Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me. (Bg 10.10)

To show them special mercy, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness born of ignorance. (Bhagavad Gita 10.11)

Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear. — Bg 18.66
