Why can’t we receive God’s blessings?

If we can’t receive God’s blessings, it can only be for one reason - we don’t want to receive God’s blessings. Thus, the only thing stopping us from receiving God’s blessings is our own mind.

Especially in the present age of Kali, God has made His blessings readily available. Just by invoking God’s holy name, one becomes an immediate recipient of His blessings. The first blessing of God is that He arranges for us to meet with His pure devotee.

In order to receive the blessings of God, one must receive the blessings of His devotee - the spiritual master.

In his famous prayers to his spiritual master, the Vaishnava saint Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura states:

“By the mercy of the spiritual master one receives the benediction of Krishna. Without the grace of the spiritual master, one cannot make any advancement. Therefore, I should always remember and praise the spiritual master. At least three times a day I should offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of my spiritual master.”
